Scouting for Clean Waterways
- In celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Conservation Good Turn for America, Scouting America is joining the nationwide initiative aimed at addressing the critical issue of waterway and marine debris, “aquatic trash,” offering Scouts the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the health of our waterways and ecosystems.
- Be part of Scouting America’s nationwide campaign to combat waterway and marine debris. Every year, millions of tons of plastic and other man-made materials pollute our waters, threatening marine life and ecosystems.
- Cub Scouts can learn about aquatic trash and participate in a variety of activities to help remove trash from our parks and community areas. Dens or Packs can participate in clean-up activities in their local communities.
- Scouts, Venturers, and Sea Scouts can learn about this critical environmental issue, develop sustainable practices, and take action through community service projects. Scout Troops, Venturing Crews, and Sea Scout Ships can organize a Scouting for Clean Waterways Service Project.
- Councils may choose to organize a Council or District wide Scouting for Clean Waterways Service Project.
Distinguished Conservation Service Award (DCSA)
