On October 20, 2011, several PLN members were on hand at the 2011 Difference Maker Award celebration.  PLN was selected as a nominee for the award for the organizations dedication toward improving the lives of local youth in Cincinnati.  In the past year, PLN has worked regularly with a group of youth in the inner city to mentor, guide, and help them to earn advancements that correlate to key principles in life.  With the leadership of the PLN mentors, the youth have learned several new activities which have also reinforced and instilled core values.  Over the last few months, the youth have learned things like sportsmanship, correct manners, how to write a thank you card, and even ultimate frisbee!  Ben Hall, Chair for the mentoring group, said, "we have really enjoyed having the opportunity to lead these scouts.  I know everyone on our committee is grateful to be involved and we're having a blast mentoring them."

PLN also played a substantial role in providing mentors to Challenge Camp, a free camp for underpriviledged youth hosted by the Boy Scouts.  PLN sent over 50 mentors to help guide patrols of youth through daily activities.

Congratulations and thank you to everyone in PLN who has helped to make such an impact on our city, community, and the youth we serve.
