Dan Beard Council, Boy Scouts of America Welcomes New Chief Development Officer Edward M. Rauen, Jr.!
July 27, 2021 – Dan Beard Council is excited to welcome and introduce Edward M. Rauen, Jr. as their new Chief Development Officer. In this role, Edward will be responsible for developing, managing and executing an effective total financial development program to fund the Council, including the identification, cultivation and solicitation of volunteers and donors in our annual campaign, special events, grants and foundations and corporate sponsorships. Edward will also work with Andrew Zahn, Scout Executive/CEO, in identifying, cultivating and soliciting major gifts to support the operating, capital and endowment funds of the Dan Beard Council.
Edward brings an extensive record of nearly 20 years of fundraising experience and delivering impact at nonprofit organizations – including the National MS Society and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In his role as President of the Michigan, Ohio Buckeye and Ohio Valley Chapters of the National MS Society, Edward developed one of the most diverse volunteer boards in the nation, resulting in unprecedented levels of engagement and quantifiable business results. Edward’s strong executive leadership, and experience in relationship building, fundraising, major gifts, grant making, corporate relationships, deferred giving and donor-cycle execution will enable Dan Beard Council to develop a stronger fundraising foundation for our staff and volunteers and increase our fundraising capacity at a pivotal time for Scouting. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Cincinnati and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from the Mount St. Joseph University School of Business. Edward resides in Cincinnati with his wife and children.
Please join us in welcoming Edward to the Dan Beard Council as he works with leaders in our community to support local Scouting in Southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky.
