All Cub Scout Leaders! Join us for an in-person Join Scout Night Training at one of our convenient locations across Dan Beard Council!

At this membership recruitment training called “Join Scout Night”, leaders will learn about this year’s recruitment campaign including the marketing strategies and materials in place to help you reach new families. We encourage at least one representative from each Pack attend a Join Scout Night Training(s) to learn about our coordinated strategy and to receive marketing materials such as yard signs, posters, applications, Bring a Friend cards, etc.

About Join Scout Night Training

School will be starting throughout Dan Beard Council over the next few weeks. As students head back to school, it also means it’s time to invite new families to participate in the Scouting program.

Hopefully your Pack will be represented at one of our membership recruitment training sessions (called Join Scout Night Trainings) that will take place over the next couple of weeks.

If you have not already done so, get your Pack info/handouts ready to go (Pack contacts/calendar/basic info). You will need these items at Sign-Up events and perhaps at a variety of other events during the next month where your Pack will be represented.

Pack Responsibilities:

  • Work with your district executive staff to plan and coordinate sign-up events (date/time/location/contact) in the next few days.
  • Look up your Pack/Troop/Crew on www.BeAScout.org. Update any info as appropriate now before the wave of inquiries hit email inbox for your group.
  • Make sure your Pack participates in back-to-school events and open houses.
  • Schedule and prepare for your Parent Orientation to be held a week or so after your Sign-Up Night.
  • Get the word out in your community about the Sign-Up Night. The earlier the better!
    • Yard signs, posters, community newspaper, church bulletin, community/school/church marquees, etc.
  • Activate and setup online registration (optional)
