Queen City District’s Annual Fundraising Event
The Whitney M. Young Jr. Service Award Ceremony recognizes outstanding services by an adult individual or an organization for demonstrated involvement in the development and implementation of Scouting opportunities for youth from rural or low-income urban backgrounds. This annual ceremony showcases our ScoutREACH Scouting program and raises funds to ensure Scouting remains accessible to all youth. Over 90% of the funding, leadership, and program fees in our outreach programs are provided by the council.
Congratulations To Our 2025 Honoree
Royce Sutton, Fifth Third Bank
Royce is an author, public speaker, investor and well-being champion who resides in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is the Principal Executive for Penultimate LLC. He enjoys the beauty of outdoors and speaking about the legacy building powers of the spirit, the mind, the body and personal treasury.
He recently released his book, “Powerful Questions in the Bible”, that is an in-depth guide challenging readers to discover their unique spiritual journey while finding answers to life’s difficult questions. To encourage this journey, Royce hosts a weekly national “Powerful Questions Classroom” to elevate and empower personal discovery. He is an ordained Deacon who’s traveled as a missionary to Africa, Central America and Puerto Rico.
Most notably, as a former 30-year senior financial services industry executive, he is known for creating digital financial education tools and developing innovative capital and investment strategies targeting underserved markets. Royce led the creation of a digital financial education tool that has reached over 1.2 million high school students, he has written financial education curriculum, and he has facilitated financial education workshops in faith-based and community settings.
As a public speaker at national and state-wide levels, he has facilitated panels, been a presenting expert and a participant on many topical panels. He is described as captivating, inspiring and informed. Royce was a featured weekly guest on a leading St. Louis-based radio station, where he shared valuable wise money tips. He is a former university adjunct instructor and a 17-year local elected official, as well.
He has served on or chaired over 40 community-based, industry and philanthropic boards of directors in the faith, education, commerce, philanthropy and community development sectors.
Royce believes that our faith and wellbeing power our potential and purpose.

Kala Gibson, Fifth Third Bank
Kala Gibson serves as executive vice president and chief corporate responsibility officer at Fifth Third Bancorp. He oversees the Bank’s corporate citizenship work, which includes Community Development Banking, Community Impact Banking, Inclusion and Sustainability. He also serves as Chairman of the Fifth Third Foundation’s distribution committee and the Bank’s Corporate Sustainability Committee.
Kala joined Fifth Third in 2011 as business banking executive for Eastern Michigan. He became the Bank’s head of Business Banking in 2013, overseeing the division’s strategic planning, operations, sales force, credit fulfillment and product development. In 2020, he oversaw the lending component of the Bank’s Paycheck Protection Program and in 2021 led the acquisition of Provide Inc.
Kala started his career at Comerica Bank in Detroit and has more than 30 years of experience in business banking and credit administration.

Kyle Inskeep, Local 12 News Anchor
Kyle Inskeep joined the Local 12 News team in June 2018. He anchors the 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts with Paula Toti.
Prior to moving to Cincinnati, Kyle worked as a morning reporter/fill-in anchor for FOX59 in Indianapolis for three years. While there he covered the 2017 Presidential Inauguration, the 100th running of the Indy 500 and the sentencing of former Subway pitchman Jared Fogle.
During his first year out of college, Kyle worked for NBC News in Washington, D.C. He was selected as the 2012 Tim Russert Fellow. As part of this program, Kyle worked as a researcher for the network’s “political unit,” assisted correspondents and field producers and worked alongside the Meet The Press digital team.
Kyle graduated magna cum laude from Butler University with a degree in Electronic Journalism.
