PREMIER EVENTS

SUMMER CAMP | June - August
Camp Friedlander is the premier Scouts, BSA Summer Camp program with a wide variety of merit badge options, activities for younger and older Scouts, training opportunities for adult leaders, and some of the best camping facilities in the country. Each summer, thousands of Scouts from across the nation (and the world) make Camp Friedlander their summer camp home for a fun week of learning, achievement, leadership, and Scouting at its best.

CUB CAMP | June - July
Camping at the Cub Scout level introduces boys to the outdoors and helps them develop outdoor skills at an age-appropriate level that will be applied more thoroughly as a Scout in Scouts, BSA. As Cub Scouts progress, the opportunities for outdoor adventures become more challenging.

SPOOK-O-REE | 2 Weekends in October
The Spook-O-Ree is a family Halloween event for everyone! Take your pick of evenings and join the thousands of families that will venture out to Cub World for Halloween fun in a safe, family-friendly environment at a cost that fits just about any budget. The Spook-O-Ree is packed with activities including hayrides, storytelling, the haunted castle, midway games, the haunted trail, and more! Come as a pack, a den, or as a family. And everyone is invited, so bring your friends!
SPECIAL EVENTS COMING UP

CINCINNATI SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA | LOLLIPOPS | November 19, 2022
DBC Scouts and their families are invited to enjoy $5 Scouts tickets and $10 adult tickets to Lollipops on November 19th at 10:30 am. The concert theme is Postcards Across America, featuring selections representing the musical mosaic of our country. Experience the American Southwest through Copland’s Hoe-Down from Rodeo, our very own Midwest through Henry Mancini’s Ohio Riverboat, and the American South through The Charleston—there will even be a tap dancer! Families can come early and experience crafts, activities, and an interactive music lab at the Family Fun Zone, included with all ticket purchases. The fun begins at 9:30 am. CINCINNATI POPS | RED, WHITE AND BOOM! | July 4, 2022
Come together and celebrate America's birthday from sea to shining sea. Join JMR and the Pops for a showcase of American favorites inspired by the beauty of this land and its peoples. Special Scout Rate available and receive a patch for attending! Plus, stick around for the post-concert fireworks! Tickets are $10 for Scouts and $25 for adults. Any family wishing to purchase lawn tickets do not need to reserve tickets for their young scout members (17 and under), as they are free tickets and those tickets will be provided at the venue. DAYTON DRAGONS SCOUT NIGHTS & CAMPOUTS | Select Games for 2022
Break out your tents for the Scouts Overnight at Fifth Third Field. As a pack, troop or individual family, attend a Dragons game, watch a movie on the video board, and camp out on the field! Want even more fun? Come to Fifth Third Field for a Dayton Dragons Scout Night which includes a Scout Parade before every game, wacky mascots and more! Scout Night games are April 10, May 21 and August 6, 2022. Scout Overnights are June 10 and July 8, 2022.

FLORENCE Y'ALLS SCOUT CAMPOUT | July 15, 2022
Come out for a night of fun at the Florence Y'alls Cub & Scouts BSA Campout! This event is packed with activities for your Scout such as reserved tickets to the game,, post-game movie and camp out on the field! This is a can't miss event. Details coming soon!

THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL RESEARCH INSTITUTE | Year-Round
The Archaeological Research Institute is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization shaped by passionate local residents, avocational and professional archaeologists to impart appreciation for the rich archaeological heritage of the Greater Cincinnati area. Through hands-on educational experiences, we focus on the identification, preservation, and responsible scientific exploration of archaeological sites in Southeast Indiana, Southwestern Ohio and Northern Kentucky areas. Through real hands-on experiences at our excavations in the field, research in the lab and tour experiences, Scouts of all ages are invited to EXPLORE local archaeology and the Native Cultures that came before us and that continue to this day.

GORMAN HERITAGE FARM | Year-round Programs for Scouts
Gorman Heritage Farm offers education programs to help Scouts work through requirements for different nature and animal-related badges, or to simply have a fun day together at the Farm. All Scout programs are designed for the pack to attend together with a chaperone or Scout leader. Your farm teacher will lead your pack in hands-on activities that accomplish the necessary requirements! There are also plenty of merit badge or service project opportunities for older scouts in Scouts BSA as well!

CINCINNATI CYCLONES | Select Games
The Cincinnati Cyclones celebrate children in our community that choose to participate in Scouting with the Boy Scouts of America, Dan Beard Council. Select games during their season are designated as "Scout Nights". They encourage people to come as groups & offer a special Cincinnati Cyclones Patch to anyone that orders via one of the forms on their website, or through one of their sales representatives. Each date has deadlines for orders, so be sure to submit your orders early to get your patch!

NEW DISCOVERIES GEOTOUR | Select Days
Do you love outdoor adventures and scavenger hunts? If you do then you’ll also love geocaching! Held annually in August, be sure to save the date for Discoveries GeoTour in Middletown, Ohio! Three days of geocaching shenanigans - 4 collectible, trackable coins - and plenty of swag. Whether you’re a seasoned geocacher who has seen it all or completely new to geocaching, you’ll have the opportunity to track down our 25 caches while exploring Middletown. Located on the Great Miami River, Middletown offers adventure seekers summer-time fun!

KINGS ISLAND ENGINEERING DAY
Calling all Scouts, BSA! Kings Island is proud to announce our Inaugural Scouts, BSA Engineering Day! Bring your troop for an AMAZING day at Kings Island where you can meet other Scouts, enjoy world-class coasters and participate in Engineering Day. Join Jeff Gramke, our Manager of Construction, as he reveals how he designed and built The Beast! Scouts will gain a greater understanding of the field and learn what controls the thrills on their favorite rides. Includes an exclusive behind the scenes tour of The Beast. Reservations must be placed and pre-paid 14 days in advance to register for Scouts, BSA Engineering Day.

CINCINNATI REDS
The Cincinnati Reds annually welcome the Scouts, their friends, and families to Scout Night Campouts! The on-field campout occurs after the Reds play, with the game starting at 4:10PM. Dates are coming soon!

CINCINNATI BENGALS SCOUT DEY
The Cincinnati Bengals and the Dan Beard Council partnered together to create an exclusive Cincinnati Bengals Scout Dey. This amazing Scout Dey was a prime opportunity for packs, troops and Scouting families to plan an outing to come out and cheer for Cincinnati’s football team–the Cincinnati Bengals! WHO DEY, let’s go Bengals!

PERFECT NORTH SLOPES | Select Days
Perfect North Slopes has a history of working with the Dan Beard Council units and families. These annual ski, snowboarding and snow tubing trips are a great way to enjoy winter fun with fellow scouts and family! This is a great way to earn your Snow Sports Merit Badge, ask your unit leader how you can get started on this merit badge.
