Golden Spoon Photo Contest

The Dan Beard Council, Boy Scouts of America would like to invite all of our Scouts to participate in our Golden Spoon Photo Contest through our Scouting At Home video series. We know a lot of our Scouts love to camp, and where there is camping, there is usually a campfire with yummy food! We are asking our Scouts to prepare their favorite camp-style cooking recipes, take a photo and enter our Golden Spoon Photo Contest! Your food can be cooked indoors, outdoors, on a stove, on a campfire…however you choose. Contest runs from Friday, April 10, 2020 through Friday, April 17, 2020.

Remember that it is still important to follow Youth Protection policies even through online meetings and Scouting activities. Here is a link to the BSA Online and Social Media Guidelines.

HOW TO ENTER THE CONTEST

STEP 1: Choose your favorite camp-style recipe, prepare it however you choose and have fun with it!

STEP 2: Take a photo of your camp-style food you prepared. Some helpful tips are to wear your uniform, take a photo in an area that has a lot of light, presentation is key and be creative!

STEP 3: To submit your photo for entry in the Golden Spoon Photo contest, log in to Facebook and create a post from your personal account. You must tag the Dan Beard Council by typing @DanBeardCouncil into your post. Add the hash tag #GoldenSpoonDBC. This will allow us to see the photo of your amazing camp-style food you prepared and enter you into the contest. You must tag the Dan Beard Council in order to enter the contest.

Please Note:

  • The Golden Spoon Photo contest runs from Friday, April 10 through Friday, April 17, 2020 ending at 11:59pm.
  • Winners will be announced the following week.
  • Entries must be posted on Facebook with the tag @DanBeardCouncil and hash tag #GoldenSpoonDBC to be entered into the contest. Photos without the tag will not be seen by the Dan Beard Council, therefor not a valid entry. Please see the contact below if you are unable to tag the Council in your post.
