DAN BEARD COUNCIL STRATEGIC PLAN
OUR PURPOSE: Our purpose is to prepare young people in the Greater Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky region to become the leaders of tomorrow by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
OUR VISION & VALUES: We aim to be a leader in attracting families and providing youth an unmatched experience in developing future leaders, continuing their legacy of outdoor adventure and addressing regional priorities in STEM and workforce development. The Dan Beard Council’s main focus is on safety by protecting and enhancing the well-being of our members as well as diversity by truly valuing and engaging our customers and staff. We strive to proceed with integrity by being trustworthy in all we do.
The plan includes 4 major strategies with 6 key priorities shown below.
Ensure families have opportunity to join a quality Pack and Troop in each community/neighborhood in the 12-county region
Diversify Scout membership growth to better reflect the diversity of the communities served, specifically in gender, race and ethnicity
Position council as workforce development conduit through strategic business and community partnerships
Develop youth safety initiative to educate and provide resources on child abuse prevention and mental health awareness to volunteers
Leverage camp properties and council-wide programs to become net profit centers
Implement a moves management program with a focus on donor-centric cultivation and retention of donors
Launch recruitment campaign for new, qualified volunteers to provide diversified perspective and aid succession planning for roles
Invest in employee development by initiating employee engagement survey, implementing 360 feedback and work and development plans for key managers
