The Board of Directors of the Dan Beard Council believe that adult leader training is essential in ensuring that all registered youth receive the best Scouting program possible. Adult leader training help leaders get acquainted with the Scouting program, how it works and how to implement it, while delivering a fun and exciting experience for the youth. Therefore, units rechartering on or before December 31, 2010, a three year training initiative has been established to achieve a goal of 100% trained unit leaders.

Many of the Basic Leader Trainings courses, including Youth Protection Training, This is Scouting, and some Position Specific Trainings, can be completed online to move you toward Trained Status. While anyone can create a login and use the MyScouting system, it is best used when connected to your Membership ID to update your training records with the Dan Beard Council.

If you have taken any online trainings, it is important to link your MyScouting account to the Dan Beard Council's registration records. The council's registration records will only be automaticaly updated if your MyScouting account is linked to your membership ID number.
To make sure your account is linked to your registraion, click on "My Profile" from the left menu. Look for the entry towards the bottom of the page noting your Membership ID and association with Dan Beard Council. If all of this information is correct, there is nothing more to do. If you do not see this entry, choose Dan Beard Council from the drop-down list, enter you Membership ID and click "Add." Last Updated on Wednesday, 15 June 2011 12:39

It's easy to check training records to see that your ScoutNet records match the training you or your unit members have completed. Just log into MyScouting.org , click on “Training Validation,” then check to see if your trainings have been recorded in the Council’s computer system.
We are encouraging all units to use this system to check the training status of all registered leaders. All you need is a list of everyone’s membership ID Numbers and you can review the training status of the registered adult leaders. A list of these numbers can be found on your charter paperwork or you can obtain a list from your District Professional.
