Camp Friedlander

Camp Friedlander is the perfect place to hold your group's next event or outing!

During the summer months, the Camp Friedlander Summer Camp program provides a rewarding experience for thousands of Boy Scouts. For the rest of the year, the camp serves as a great meeting and camping place for Scout units and other groups, and hosts many exciting events and activities. The facilities at Camp Friedlander have plenty to offer for every group.

Dining Hall

The Camp Friedlander Dining Hall is ideal for trainings, Blue and Gold Banquets, Courts of Honor, wedding receptions, family reunions, or just about any major event. A large deck provides for outdoor dining. The building is air-conditioned with seating for 600 people. An industrial kitchen makes meal preparation for large groups possible. Soft drink fountains and coffee pots can be reserved. Full AV support, including a projector, wireless microphone, and DVD player, is also available.

Lake Marge Schott

The 18-acre Lake Marge Schott is home to plenty of water activities including swimming, fishing, sail boating, kayaking, and canoeing. Many of the campsites are located on the lakefront. A boathouse and shelter are nearby for program use. Lifeguards must be on duty for swimming and boating. (The camp can provide lifeguards if needed.)

Swimming Pool

The Olympic-size swimming pool is open between June and September. We have plenty of pool toys for use including a basketball and volleyball nets. Lifeguards must be on duty to use the pool. (The camp can provide lifeguards if needed.)

Cabins

Cabins are available for rental and are heated for winter camping. A shower house is located nearby, and the Dining Hall and lakefront are a short walk away. There are six smaller cabins and two larger cabins at Camp Friedlander.

Smaller cabins have four bunk beds, two wardrobes, and a writing desk on each side. Each cabin has two sides. Cabins are heated and have high-speed internet access.

Larger cabins can sleep up to six people and have a full bathroom, table and chairs, a writing desk, and high-speed internet access. These cabins are heated and air-conditioned. Meals can be prepared at a small kitchen unit with a refrigerator. There are two sides to each cabin.

Campsites

There are a total of 23 campsites at Camp Friedlander with varying capacities. Traditional campsites are located near the lakefront or in more secluded locations in the woods. Each canvas tent holds two campers and is raised on a wooden platform. Tents hold two cots with mattresses. There are 2 tree house campsites. Tree houses are open air buildings that are comfortable for winter camping, but still offer a primitive feel. The tree houses have eight bunks each. Every campsite has a shelter with picnic tables, a fire ring, a water pump, and a nearby shower house.

Climbing Tower and Ropes Course

The 60-foot climbing and rappelling tower is one the highlights of the Camp Friedlander program. The COPE (Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience) ropes course can be a great teambuilding activity for your group. Amphitheater

The amphitheater has a 500-person seating capacity and a spectacular view of the lake. A large campfire ring makes for a great evening program. Audio-visual support is available and the amphitheater is a short walk down the hill from the Dining Hall.

Eagle's Nest

The Eagle's Nest is located at the center of camp adjacent to a large outdoor shelter. It makes for a great conference room and is only a minute walk from the Dining Hall.

The Eagle's Nest can seat about 40 people with tables, more with just chairs. The room is heated and air-conditioned, has a small kitchenette including a coffee maker, and a private restroom. High-speed wireless internet is available.
